Once again, we're running low on Answer topics, so it's your chance to help us shape our content.

Got a question you're arguing with your beta? Got a pet peeve you wish fandom would fix? Run into a problem somewhere else that still applies to fannish writing? We'll take them all.

Go to the Ask a Question post to suggest them. Comments are screened, so don't worry about being embarrassed.

No topic is too obscure, no question too nitpicky.

May the Grammar be with you!

One of my pet peeves is folks who use words they think they know but don't really and, therefore, use them improperly. Simple vocabulary used correctly beats getting fancy-schmancy with a $25. word one really doesn't understand or that can only be used in certain contexts. Also, spell check is no universal panacea. If it's a real word and especially the correct part of speech, it's missed. Recently, I saw "infirmary" for infirmity" and "fowl" for "foul." Nothing beats painstaking and knowledgeable proof-reading.

I guess it wasn't a question. You asked about pet peeves, and that's mine. I even saw "poultry" for "paltry" a few months ago. No, honestly. There must be chicken fanciers out there.
