I always enjoy getting beta comments that are peppered with suggestions on how to use American idioms or a particular turn of phrase. Especially those tricky things, like getting brand names for household goods right, or making sure I'm using the slang properly and not accidentally making a General sound 'gangsta'. :P
I file them all away, and it really helps when I'm trying to get the 'voice' of a character who tends to slip into say a more regionalised speech pattern.
I'll even pester people over AIM - just last night I was fishing around for the right phrase to describe what I would call 'the lounge' - the room where you watch TV - and I had a big conversation on 'living room' versus 'den' or 'rec room'.
Hehehe - 'den' I just love that word! It makes me think of bears ina cave though!
